Comments: Our first country town concert for a long while. An audience of 76 people had a wonderful night with the orchestra performing in a restored hall with great acoustics. Robert invited questions from the audience between pieces and the result was a lively interaction from an appreciative audience. Robert was extremely pleased with the orchestra's perfomance. Naomi Millet (ex WAMO member) performed the guitar solo in Spanische Impressionen and was well received, particularly as Naomi is now living in Toodyay with her two children Leo and Clive. We had a BBQ at Naomi's house before the concert and, as most of us stayed overnight in the town, we also had an enjoyable evening of socialising after the concert. Sunday morning was a wonderful country breakfast at the Empire Tea Rooms before returning to Perth. The event was voted a huge success by orchestra members.

Comments: Wonderful concert to an audience of over 100 people. Lots of appreciative comments, especially Kath's singing on "A Dark History" which received many compliments. We all enjoyed the socialising afterwards with afternoon tea provided by the residents. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Sunday, 2:30pm 13th July 2008 | "Strings Galore - Guitars, Mandolins & More" Calloway Auditorium University of WA (Joint Concert with WA Classical Guitar Society) |

Comments: Concert for the Royal Schools of Music Club featuring the premiere of Richard Charlton's new work "The Adventures of the Duyfken". An appreciative audience made for an enjoyable concert. We performed our programme very well, and the "Duyfken" was a great success. The audience really appreciated the fact that we performed works by Asutralian composers.
Saturday, 2:00pm 2nd August 2008 | Fremantle Town Hall (Joint Concert with WA Classical Guitar Society) |
| Programme 1. Caffee (H. Prochnow, Op.12) 2. Variations on Kemp's Jig (R. Schulz 2007) 3. Dance Rondo 4. Adventures of the Duyfken (R. Charlton 2007) 5. Anna's Farewell 6. Suite No 2 |
Comments: A small-ish audience of about 90 people enjoyed a delightful concert. The CGSWA ensemble performed exceptionally well and we were very happy with our performance as well. The acoustics of the venue were excellent, something our conductor was talking about well after the concert!

Saturday, 3:00pm 15th November 2008 | Fremantle Town Hall |
| Programme 1. Suite No 6 (H. Ambrosius 1963) 2. Adventures of the Duyfken (R. Charlton 2007) 3. Three Auckland Nocturnes (Yvette Audain 2007) 4. Caffee (H. Prochnow, Op.12) Interval 5. Comments: This was a free concert planned as an experiment to attract new audience members. It was a huge success with an audience of approx. 350 people, the largest we have had for many years. The concert went very well although the orchestra was a bit tentative on the new items (3 Nocturnes and Lanner & Co). We expected to make a loss on this concert but in fact broke even due to the generosity of the audience if giving donations as well as buying 19 or our CDs. It was a very exciting day. A CD recording was made of the concert for internal distribution only.
NOTES:
On 26th November WAMO moved rehearsal venue from the Bicton Presbyterian Church Hall to the Rhein Donau Club in North Lake Rd, Melville. It was felt that the RDC offered greater opportunity for socialising within the orchestra and also some new performance opportunities.
